TO JOIN BARNETS APPROVED SUPPLIER LIST FOR CHILD PROTECTION CONFERENCE CHAIRS AND INDEPENDENT REVIEWING OFFICERS

London Borough of Barnet would like to invite expressions of interest from experienced Child Protection Conference Chairs and Independent Reviewing Officers to join their approved supplier list which will cover the period April 2014- April18.

Child protection conferences are convened where there are concerns a child is likely to suffer significant harm and it is the role of the chair to make a decision regarding whether the child should be subject to a child protection plan and to draw up that plan.

Independent Reviewing Officers must chair looked after reviews for children in care and provide scrutiny of the delivery of the child’s care plan raising practice concerns where necessary.

Successful applicants must have undertaken this role before (not necessarily for Barnet), be a qualified and registered social worker and will be offered work on an as and when basis according to the requirements of the service.

Child protection conferences are held within Barnet and IRO work is available both within the Borough and in other parts of the UK where Barnet’s looked after children are placed.

Applicants will be assessed individually even if they are part of a consortia arrangement.
