Gangs and Serious Youth Violence Programme

Barnet is one of the safest boroughs in London; however there have been growing issues in terms of Gangs and Serious Youth Violence (GSYV) over the last few years. There has been a marked escalation with this issue, particularly in relation to the serious violence, the frequency of violence and the decrease in age of gang members. Evidence from other boroughs suggests that, unless different approaches are adopted and more interventions placed to combat GSYV, this trend is set to continue and escalate at a faster rate.
